Mate has one of these and is well happy with it, he did have to buy a converter to use his record dec, but it was cheap.

Sony HT-SS100

5.1 All in one with HD audio support.
Bookshelf speakers that are wall mountable.
3xHDMI

I have it and its great.

You may need an adapter for the iPod and turntable though.

I dont know how much luck you will have with an all in one package with a record player input, unless your record player has a built in phono amp you will need something like this Phono Pre-amplifier, Black: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo I dont have one myself so I cant say if its any good.

I personally have a Yamaha v-rx 3900 with a 5.1 speaker set by Monitor Audio. Top quality sound for games movies and stereo music (CD, MP3 and vinyl). But you do need some space for the amp and the speakers. Loads of connections on the amp though.

Anything higher than an Onkyo 606 will be epic for you, but they don't come with speakers usually, so you'll have to get those seperate (supports both 5.1 and 7.1) - I use it on 5.1 with some Panasonic speakers and its the best sound kit I ever heard.

A £350 amp for a 2.1 system in a bedroom...its complete overkill.

Looking to get a 606 or a 607 when I've rearranged the lounge.
