You actually need a range of good spec. Its no good having a tv with decent contrast ratio only for it to have poor motion, sharpness, colour and a resolution lower than what you have content for.

V. true mate - I just find the biggest "difference maker" is the contrast ratio.

Most of the claimed contrast ratios are utter bullshit though especially those claimed by non-Japanese companies like Samsung. Panasonic Plasmas all the way...could never go back to LCD.

Ti's true ! my LG is literally the best PS3 picture I have seen aswell though, I didnt rate them mutch untill my friend told me he had had his for 4 years and its still as good as the day he got it! Me likey me gotey

I have a 50" Samsung LCD for almost a year now that I purchased from Curry's for £700 and still love the picture quality and clearness of it! The best advantage I can see is when I have mates round playing a free-for-all on MWF 2 on the same TV everyone can see alot better!
