woop woop another point for me
any way i'd advise anyone in ireland to steer well clear of eircom now
since the speed upgrades they have bein rubbish, the pings are through the roof and page loads take forever

my eircom was shit for 2 weeks,but back to normal now.they fobbed me off,told me it was down to contention,their such liars,i managed to get a number to speak to one of their technicans,he told me over the phone they were upgrading some of the lines in my area and everything would be back to normal in 2 weeks,which they are.

my thomson router is set up for nat type 2,it seems to work fine for my ps3[mostly play cod online],would type 1 be better?if so can someone tell me how to do it?

if ya have nat 2 and upnp is enabled and workin properly there is no need for nat 1
eircon's dns servers are messed up and are up and down like a yoyo so i'd advise u to change them

i'm not familiar with the router you have but have a look for connection settings or advanced connection settings, look for dns, its probably set to get auto from isp or else will have the ericom dns as default, if its the first click the button that says use these settings

for the primary dns use 208.67.222.222
for the secondary use 208.67.220.220

save and restart the connection and ya shouldnt have too many more problems
