GTA Keeps crashing???

Right I sneak out of work to get my copy of GTA

When I finally get round to playing, after the intro (5 or so minutes) i steal my first car, class stuff. I burn about smashing into everything trying to get the controls sorted then a lovely car catches my eye. So i jump in, in run over the driver hop out and get like $300 off him then as soon as I get back in the car the game crashes on me.

So I think its a glitch no PS3 game has ever done this vefore, so I start again another 10 minutes later I steal what looks like a BMW and boom its crahed again, is this a crap copy or is this game doing this to other people?????? I'm gutted!!!

Touch wood, ive not had this happen yet but ive not hammered it, just clocked up a couple of hours on it.
Im sure it'll get patched and sorted

My pre-order didn’t arrive as gameplay are crap but what do you do if it crashes? Do you have to turn the mains off or hold down the rest button?

Happened to me had to quit game only once so not to bad.

Anyone played online? It worked once for me but now it dont connect says ' try again later'

It crashed on me last night when I pressed the PS button to turn off the system. I thought that was strange.

I hope its not a sign of things to come

You would think after the 5 month delay they wouldn't need to be patching the game for such a major flaw!!

came across this, it seems it could be 60GB HDD users mostly affected, but uninstalling and reinstalling the game is supposed to fix it.

I have a 40GB version and no freezes or crashes, yet

GTA4 (PS3) Freezing Issue; Fix Suggested | Game Stooge
GTA IV freezes sometimes, but there's a fix - PS3 Fanboy

Will give it a proper test tonight and every night for the next ages

He does like to spam r jim dont he

My crashed on a loading screen (when you retry a mission it has a load screen) it jus kept loading n loading n loadin ectect so i had to press the PS button n quit the game
