Socom Rules!!

Ok, on account of me never being more excited about a game in my life ever i have decided to add an individual forum for this game early. As a lot of you know i spent a lot of my life playing socom 2 online back in the day and the news that this will have a few of the old maps in this installment has made me cream my pants.

I've just been watching the videos on gametrailers.com an looking at the new Crossroads map has brought it all back to me. As long as they have good headset communications (they have said they will be incorporating a specialized system for this purpose), all you lot will find out what an online tactical team shooter is all about.

COD4 is a great game and easily the best game on the ps3 so far but Socom takes online shooters to another level. If you prefer plain and simple run and shoot games COD4 is your man but if you like interactive maps, with endless tactical possibilities this game is for you. With the third person view the maps come alive with hiding places, sniper spots, ambush possibilities and much more.

Its due out the end of September so fingers crossed it wont be delayed like every other ps3 game.

Also, anyone know how many maps are in the game? From what i know they have Crossroads, Frostfire and Requiem from Socom 2 but i dont know how many new maps will be added.

YEY! I've been waiting for this. I think there has been 7 maps announced up to now. And I know what you mean about never bieng more excited, YEAH BOI! The only thing I don't like is the fact you can get heavier armor if u want. Yes, it will slow you down and shiz, but it is just like the equivalent the Juggernaught on CoD. >.< I hope it's not too much of a problem though.

I cant see the armour being too much of a problem. They will have it all well balanced im sure. I'd say it will slow you down a good bit.

RSV done the same thing with armour. You would see guys armourless looking like they run on speed.

then you see some guy fully heavily padded out moving like a sloth.
