It may be worth trying. I already had an EA master account set-up (as for PC it is a pre-requisit for online EA games) so I just linked my PS3 user name with it at the bad company website. But I believe you can make a new account from there too (probably have an option to make new account through the log in tab).

I am not sure if this is needed for sure, but it wouldnt hurt to try it out, and BF:BC is awsome online

EDIT- once you have yopur account up and running dont forget to link your PS3 username with it too!
