Default GT5 Online

I love GT5 but does anyone agree that the online play is a bit sh*te, the cars do not act in a realisitic manor (way to jerky) and the speed of even the same model of cars is often miles different, i hate to insult GT5 but i feel the online has been put in as purely a testing product for them to improve the full game, and if it does not improve i dont think i would want to buy it when it comes out. your thoughts

I dont agree. Yes the online isn't great as you cant race your mates but thats as far as it goes for me.

If the cars are jerky its prob something to do with your Broadband connection,

And regarding the cars being faster than yours, This cant happen, The cars are all grouped together to make it fair for everyone, The better driver usually wins as it ALL depends on who gets round the corners faster, Thats what gives you high speed on the straight,

May be my Connection is to fast as it is 20meg but the play seems very unreal, and all the other players cars move very jerky, i always do well in the races usualy top 3 but i just dont like the way it looks when playing.

Ha ha, No I think 20MB should be fine, So thats not the problem then. Thats weird then, I did notice some jerkys but I just put it down to my crappy connection.

I stand corrected

i think i remember seeing some where on the online screen news that a higher speed is detromental to how you see the oppponents cars with a lower connection speed, i maybe wrong. maybe when matching opponents they should look at connection speed as well as car type.

You can race your mates. I've list as friends, then exchanged phone numbers with several other drivers with whom I like to race. We coordinate on the phone, select a venue, then jump into a race together. If we want to change venues, we just make a couple of calls to coordinate the move.

As far as cars being faster, there are equalizers built into the game to keep gameplay close. Watch your lap times carefully when racing one or two other drivers and you will see that if you are in the lead and one of the other drivers goes off track, your lap times increase (the game limits your performance) until one or both of the other drivers catches up. I've seen it make a 5 second difference in the lap time at Suzuka. Driving alone, or offline, my lap times at Suzuka will be within one second of each other.
