Pro Evo 2008 - slow down of frame rate?

Quite simple this one...
I am buying a PS3 next week, finally, and want a football game. I've favoured PES over FIFA ever since playing it all them years ago...
Anyway, Ive read reviews that complain about frame rates dropping, and slow down in game?
Is this seriously a problem? I would much rather buy FIFA 08 if it meant I'd have a smooth playing game.

Also, I know its a PES forum area, but can anyone say with a completely un-biased opinion, which games is the better game? Taking into account the claims of frame rates dropping and stuttering.

I've only got pes08 but my 2c...

pes is great fun with mates around the gaff good game to pick up for some fun. online it's a bit poo with the majority of games being unplayable due to the ball and player teleporting randomly all over the pitch and from what I hear fifa08s online is much more comprehensive if a little hampered by crappy ea servers. I'd like to have the decent online option myself but I prefer pes gameplay

I bought pes 08 and its a great game and i rarely experiance any problems online mabye 1 out of 10 games ill experiance unplayability, just make sure whoever you play against has a decent connection.

Same can be said for Fifa 08 although the online seems more stable it really does depend who your playing against and their location in the world. I love playing Be a pro online which is basicaly 10 player football match. Problem i get is if i join a game with a poor connection so i often just create a game as the connection is much better.

Overall i can say that pro has the better gameplay as always, and after playing fifa its not too bad gameplay wise but its no pro evo. Fifa often at times doesnt feel fluid enough.

Fifa however has many more teams and they are mostly all licensed teams. Fifa also has the looks although some of the players do look a bit rubbish.

I would have to say that both online in fifa and pro is poor but offline id say both were great. Id rate fifa's online as a 6 and pro as a 7. while id say the offline gameplay of both would be a solid 8.

As for those who experiance really poor online playability on pro i just dont know what to say apart from sort out your connection or create a game and make sure a full green bar connection joins your game.
