NTSC Assassin's Creed on PAL PS3

Hi,

I've been searching around and I've found out that PS3 games are not region locked, however there are some games that are made for NTSC that won't play on PAL PS3's, and vice-versa.

Does anyone know if the NTSC version of Assassins Creed will play on a PAL PS3 on a SDTV (I've read any game will work on a HDTV because they use the same resolutions unlike SDTVs).

As far as I know there are no restrictions with any games which comes as a result of using the blue ray disc which is not effected by the different power outage things..

But that is only as far as I know but every haggler on ebay will tell you American or Japanese games will work on a european ps3.

Well that's the thing, due to some confusion my Dad bought me Assassins creed whilst in America, and my brother bought the PAL version whilst in Ireland. The PAL version is opened, and I don't get the NTSC one until tomorrow. I'd like to sell it on ebay for about the price we paid (£30), but I don't want to sell it until I'm 100% sure it will work. I might take the cellaphane wrapping off and try it to make sure it works.
