ur router might not be able to supply sufficient connection speeds (mbps) and so can't support the internet for both the ps3 and pc at the same time.
i hav had similar problems with my router and hav found that using just one at a time or having one on at a time resolves the connection difficulties

I just stumbled onto this thread through a google search for the same problem the OP is having. I can shed a little light onto the problem. First of all, i am using a wireless linksys router, and i have cable internet.

Any time the PS3 is turned on, or reset, the internet connection will reset, and all connected devices will lose connection.

being somewhat computer savvy, i have tired many things to islolate the problem, but to no avail.

in its simplest configuration, i still get the same problem. With ALL PC's in the house turned off, the only thing on are the modem, and the router. When i switch on the PS3, the internet resets. (the modem starts flashing its reset pattern of lights)

I exchanged my ps3 a few months ago, and the problem is the same.

if the PS3 is wired, or wireless, the problem is the same.

setting a static IP, or using DHCP, the problem is the same.

i hope this info helps somewhat. it is extreamly fustrating when someone is in the hosue playing the ps3 and i am using my computer for some online game, or using my VOIP line, and it all dies because they turned on the ps3

hello there
i had exactly the same problems with my set up.go on wireless set up and the signal would drop out then come back but only after resetting router.did it on all four pcs and the ps3.drove me round the bend.eventually told it was the channel i was using on the router. my channels were from 1 to 13 i think.messed around changing the channels as different things in the house or next door etc can interfere with the wireless signal.had no joy at all then updated my modem with my bband provider and bang no problems at all.so apart from changing your modem which worked for me the only other thing which cures it is to connect wired by ethernt port.stable better online gaming and i found it to be faster
