please help

i recently brought a ps3 but cannot play online for some reason i followed instructions but when i go to play pes2008 or rainbow six it just says cannot connect what am i doing wrong?

First of all can you sign in to the PSNetwork and access the store?

hmmm.. have you connected your ps3 online yet.. NOT THE GAME.. eg lan or wireless? then you need to sign up on the playstation network.. Find a ID to use online. Once thats done.. hey hey your online now!!

ive managed to get it workin my firewall was set too high thats all it was in the end thanx for tryin to sort it for me

I am using a Wi-Fi Max http://www.amazon.co.uk/Datel-WiFi-M...0514122&sr=8-1 to connect to the internet. The ps3 picks up the signal and the signal strength is about 45%. But when i go to connection test it says its failed to obtain IP adress. Ive tried lots of things and dont know what to do.
