Red face No internet connection

Hey peop's

I'm new to the PS3 business and need some help if anyone can...?

In short, I have a baby 40GB ps3, Shes gorgeous and run beautifully much like the GT5 prologue... :O)

However as sexy as she is, shes proving to be a pain to get online!

Haveing gone through every network setting i can find and setting it to how 'the wise one' (Dad) recons it should be; according to our setup. It still decides it doesn't want to play!

So If any one can help it would be massiley apriciated!

Its to do with the router settings, its either the router firewall is blocking the PS3 from connecting to it or if you tryed forwarding ports you done it wrong! Open up the router settings and give the PS3 a static IP, you'll find plenty of guides on google! (i've a headache )

Im going to sound like an absolute muppet now... ready?...
I switched the PS off (as opposed to puttin it to sleep) having put the settings in it, anddddd It now like my ethernet cable!

Still have absolutly no idea why the wireless wont play.

But hey - for now i can get online the old skool way!
It must have refreshed it or reset it somehow, Im a little vaigue on what all the terms are im afraid, and having raided the forums for any kind of comments regarding the error code above, these proved usless hense my resorting to this..

I shall continue my head scratching over the wireless another time

:O)
