Hosting games on SKY Broadband problems

Hi all

Can someone please help me, i can join games online with no problems, but when i try to host no one can join my games, i had the same problems with PC games and i never managed to solve it, does anyone know a quick fix or do i have to get into port forwarding, if i need to do the latter can someone please do a dummies guide for me PLEASE, i need to host.....
