As fast as you can get but you will be fine with a 2Mb line, Even a 1Mb will be grand

Yea thats sounds like you have about a 4Mb line.

That will be more than perfect for gaming,

You can get up to 100Mb but you will have to live in downtown Tokoyo to get those speeds

The higest in the UK would be around 20 - 30Mb so far

Yea 460kbps is 3.6Mb so it looks like your on a 4Mb line,

Basically just multiply your kbps by 8 to see what speed your line is.

I have a 3Mb wireless line and but usually get speeds of about 1Mb and I usually have no problems with online gaming,

Test the PS3 on your line before you go upgrading anyway.

Sorry mate I read your post wrong. D'oh!

Your speed of 460Kbps isn't a 4Mb line or anywhere near it.

You are on a Half MB line by the looks of it, Are you a wireless or DSL customer? I used to be on the Half Mb Wireless line and this wasn't much use for gaming, It was possible but it would drop in and out a hell of a lot. I would imagine Half a MB through DSL would be ok though, Not the best but ok.

PS. Regarding your PM, I'm at work now so there's no point in doing a speedtest here as it's really fast BB here but at the same time there is about 30 people using it right now so it would show up as pretty slow, I will do one at home tonight and post it up for you.

I doubt it if thats what AOL said, Its strange though, Did they tell you why the line cant get any faster speeds? Are you far from the exchange?

I would say .5Mb is ok once its through DSL anyway, Try it and see
