YES conan definately, pick up a copy second hand or something (5er), its no FF but you will be plesantly surprised, its not too serious but you will get many hours of happy gaming out of it, if you do get it lemme know what you think

level 5 make this and they are the makers of the next RPG to come out on PS3, so when you get a PS3 conan check that one out too, white knight chronicles its called

After the " technical smudge " of the third episode, Namco put back clocks at the hour, and keeps the technical bases of the second opus by stressing gameplay so difficult as brilliant...

" I mash, thus I am not any more "...

Behind this antithetic paradox of Descartes hides the sensational truth: in this episode, beyond the graphics, beyond the gameplay, beyond the animation etc., whoever mash his pad is automatically dedicated to the defeat. It is as to type anything in the bios of an operating system.

I read tens of articles on Soul Calibur IV, listened moult reflections, and always the same words: slow, unbalanced...
Only a casual gamer can hold this kind of comment, because once the found logic and the fault presents in the guarding of the opponent (physical or mental), the game reveals all its flavour and its completely divine gameplay. I explain:

Having a strong base of Tekken, where the only means to remove the maximum of life to an opponent is the "air combo", or " juggle " (except the phases of pocking); I have to begin tried to find launchers, knocks which will allow me to make the opponent take off . I do not find much, and it, with any character.
I am thus going to make a tour towards the command list, and there, the revelation...

Certain knocks which touch in hit get to the aggressor an advantage of some frames being enough for placing a second blow. From there, the possibility of cooking his opponent is literally infinite, because we can place:

- simple knocks which do not provoke any more the advantage and which will be blocked
- a grip
- an addition of stunning knocks who touch as long as the given knocks allow us to keep this advantage.
It is as a juggle, but on the ground...
It is simple, childish, mathematically logic.

The critical finish. It is the new factor of gameplay that increases considerably the type of game.
This critical finish is very well thought. Several knocks of all the command lists of all the characters provoke a gard crush, It has the effect of forcing an advantage by breaking the guarding of the opponent, but is not still paying, because these knocks are generally very slow. By addition of these breaking guard knocks, it is thus possible to destroy the ennemy guard and when the last hit gleams in red, it is enough to press on A+B+K+G (the timing is widely 100 frames thus you have the time to drink a coffee, and even to smoke a cigarette).

A guard impact is an action which allows to take out of a pressing (when the opponent takes brings out a big quantity of knocks with a very fast recovery), by mashing simultaneously on the buttons of guard+direction backward or forward. The range of timing of the guard impact in widely increased. For proof, there a perfect guard impact, which gleams in red, and which allows generally a big hitstun AND combo, while a simple gard impact allows generally only a grip.

New characters. Hildegarde, Dark Vador (for the version PS3), the apprentice of Dark Vador, Yoda (for the version Xbox 360), Amy and Algol join the ranks of the playable characters.
Other characters are playable, such as Shura, Ashelotte, Kamikirimusi, but are only of simple skins of Cervantes, Astaroth, Siegfried, and thus possess the same command list.

It is evident that to play against a CPU has nothing fascinating, I shall not thus spread out on the subject. On the other hand, a mode Online is available, and there one is very satisfied to see that at Namco, they move their asses. The errors of latency almost totally disappeared (to have a ping of 0 ms is not too possible right now). One in the possibility of playing it versus against friends, or any henchman of the whole world. It is enough to live on earth, to have a connection cabled in NAT 2, activated uPnP...

The graphic and sound realization is a total success, and contributes to the total dumping of the divine gameplay. Of the shock of blades, taunts, by way of the very medieval musics for the greater part of which magnificent "Halcyon Harbor"...

The animation is very clean, the whole works in 60 images by seconds (usefull for a fighting game), and the animation hyper fluid of the knocks and movements enchants all the time. The grace is everywhere, even at Astaroth, it is to say...

Graphics: 8
It is beautiful, although the background of arenas are empty, destructibles decorations strengthen the dynamics of the game which wants rapid and without timeouts. It is a game fighting game, let us not forget it...

Animation: 10
It is plainly completed. All the mechanics of the knocks, the movements of the characters and the change of decorations is incredible, a never seen animation which strengthens the clash of leather and iron.


Gameplay: 10
The gameplay is completely cruel and divine for few to be equiped with a brain...

Final note: 9
It is just for not being supposed to be a fanboy that the game will have no maximal note...
To play only in versus mode against a human player.
