Wireless connection
Yo guy's.
Just took delivery of my new PS3. Tried setting up the wireless connection, enables everything o.k. but when i go to test it times out on the IP address.
Is there a specific ip address.? I must admit i dont have an eircom connection(I Think). I have Rapid broadband wireless. Just hopeing to piggyback a connection.
All the best Cos.

Everything should set up automatically. Seeing as everything else is working I dont understand why the IP address wont,
Just out of interest what sort of speed are you getting with Rapid?

Yes Thanks for the feedback, i'm getting 100mbps with a 512k up and down.
I think the problem is that i don't have a router, i was piggybacking someones eircom signal, without the correct keycodes i don't think it's going to happen.
However i was onto my provider they offered me a router for £100. Excesive?.
Thanks again for the feedback, much appreciated.
Peace.
Cos.

No not excesive, You mean € though right?
Mine cost €110 about three years ago.
Im sure you could get ones for a lot cheaper but you get what you pay for imo

think ur gettin confused with the speeds and if ya only have 512 up and down i doubt it will be good for online play, what is the ping like its prob reallyhigh cos its wireless, if its over 110 ya cant sign into psn, could be the reason it keeps timing out

Currently play a lot of Counter strike source, through an English server. Getting a ping of around 40 with a latency of 15(Average). Yes i meant 100 euro. I did find a router at Komplette.ie for around 60 euro. Do you think wired would be better? although my broadband connection is wireless.
