Default Profile and Save game Swapping

Hi
just need a little help and was wondering if anyone out there could help me
I currently use my flat mates ps3 but he is moving out (boo hoo) So i am going to buy my own ps3 and was wondering how to swap save games and profile to the new ps3

if he has got the 60gb verson then you can buy a memorystick to go into the front of the console , then simply copy all your save games to the memory stick . then when u buy a ps3 just put the stick in and copy your saves over ( by the way it doesnt have to be a memory stick it can be compact flash or sd aswell)

it doesnt matter if its only the 40gb he has ya can juat buy a card reader and plug it in to the usb and copy them, but some games wont let ya copy the save i know juiced 2 wont
