its true that sony dont own blue ray but it was created by the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) which contained corporations such as sony, pioneer, philips, thomson, LG, hitachi, sharp and samsung.
but will microsoft be re-calling all there old console's to be re-fitted with blu-ray if they dont will 360 fans have to purchase another (i use this term very very loosely) "new and improved" console???

Microsoft never said they'd add Blu-Ray to the 360. They are sticking with Digital Downloads

I thinks its toshiba who will announce that HD DVD has offically lost the HD/BLU RAY war over the next few days and prob sell their resarch to their rival.Cnet reckons that MS will have to appease the XBOX community by introducing the format within the next 30 days. The mixture of ps3 autumn releases,80gig SKU price cut and general market momentum means MS have to do something.Maybe now Valve will recognise the beautiful black machine

M$ are in talks to buy into the bluray diode technology that $ony own the exclusive rights to after all they invented it the bluray assocition are manufacterers that joined the money wagon they dont own bluray technology.
M$ are going to push ahead with the digital downloads at the moment but tis possible purchase of bluray only applies to the pc market at the moment.
Its also possible to put 40gb on a standard dvd by changing the wavelength shape but would mean ripping off a world wide consumer base so its agreed not to introduce it.
PS3 owners need not worry after all $ony would of paid M$ to use windows on there laptops so its just a big money $pinning circle.
