loosing sound

Please help .....i`ve only had ps3 for couple of months and am well chuffed with it but the problem is the last 2 updates i`ve downloaded 2.39 and 2.41 there have been problems with the sound , i totally loose all sound after downloads are complete or soon after . Thankfully te sound suddenly reappears after a few days...has anyone any idea how to rectify this???
or is my ps3 F**kd..

you sure your scart cable for the sound isnt loose?

You tryed going into audio and re-selecting what cable to use?

Its extremely odd that your audio would come back after a while.
It could be you audio equipment wether its your TV or a surround
sound system. I'd for starters try the PS3 on a different
TV or surround sound system, re-configure the sound settings
for the different TV and see if the PS3 is outputting sound to it.

It kinda sounds like a co-incidence that it happened with these updates.....
