Default Import question?

Hi, new here. I've been thinking about buying a PS3 for a while now since most of my mates have one. My Xbox os off for repair now and i've just thought eff it! Last week my mate asked me if i wanted his wife to bring me back one from Japan in a couple of weeks.

Now as far as i understand it I should be cool for playing games but what about power supply? Are there any pittfalls i should be wary of?

Thanks in advance

As mmccx said, there is a built in transformer so it can be plugged stright into a 2 pin, then 3 pin uk plug and into the wall. It wont blow up, i know, coz i have one.
