hi all im new here

well im rick from nottinghamshire and thought i say hi

i used to be a big xbox 360 fan but over the last few months its been nightmare playing online and other major issues, so this morning i decided to covert to the dark side and get a ps3 not even played yet just finished seting it up not all that clever with tech stuff,im only 32 but age is getting to me i think,anyway i got the 40gb version with kane and lynch and medal of honor airboune.
then i decided to go mad and get fall of man,call of duty 4 (coz i had that on 360) motorstorm restiance fall of man.
im hoping i chose the right games to get started with. even got me internet sorted on it im so glad its wireless as well, less wires trailing everywhere for a 2yr old to swing from!!
im hoping you lot will help me get going any ideas tips freebies lol to get let me know.
now im hoping i will get a better gaming experience than with the xbox360.not sure how the friends thing works online but you can add me if you like. i didnt get a mic is there one for it and how much and best place to buy from let me know on that one cheers and hope to chat to you all soon.

Hai2u and welcome.

CoD4 as you've had it before you should know its amazing.

Assassin's Creed is a good game to get if you like singleplayer to and PhatBoy will vouch for Uncharted.

But next month, fingers crossed Haze should be coming out which looks absolutely awesome!

On the headset issue i think any bluetooth headset should work, like the ones you get for phones i think.

I bought mine from GAME for around £35 (Gioteck or something) but you can get it off the website for £30. Not sure if p&p is included in that price tho.

Good to see you come too your senses and convert. The best is easilly yet too come from the PS3 and yet we've had an amazing end to the year and are now spoilt for choice with good games.
What games do you prefer? FPS, sport, Racers?
As previously said above get rid of Kane & Lynch ( awful reviews and playability) Trade it in for ( any one from ):

Uncharted
Assasins Creed
PES 2008

And if possible pick up a pre-owned copy of :

Tom Clancy Rainbow 6 Vegas
Tom Clancy GRAW 2
Madden 08
TigerWoods 08
NHL 08

Glad to see you got COD4 & Motorstorm both good online as are the Tom clancy games.

Regarding the headset i would personally recommend a USB headset from Argos £ 19-99 (skype enabled) or PC world.
They provide a much clearer sound and don't crackle or skip and you don't need to keep charging them risking a cut out mid game. There also cheaper meaning you can put more of your hard earned cash towards top titles.

cheers for the warm welcome and i am enjoying the ps3 only thing i got a problem with when i went on motorstorm and fall of man they needed updating but it took ages is this normal i mean a good half hour, my conection is fine all is well there and im on a 20mb line so if someone could let me know if this is normal,wife brought me another game today f1 championship edtion love my racing games so anybody play add me to you favs(still working how that works!!)

regarding headphones i do have a hands free headset motoralo one that i dont use any more can that be used if so how do i set it up

Motorola headset is fine

accesory settings on the xmb

find bluetooth headset or something like that

Ye like guppy said go to Settings on XMB then Register Bluetooth Device. Then Register Headset/Microphone/Headphones make sure your headset is on then scan for it. I think it asks you for a passcode for your headset i don't know what yours would be but mine was 0000 and some phones when using bluetooth use 0.
