Help on COD4?

Can anyone help, im trying to add members on my Friends list but ive had no luck on doin it

Go to friends on the XMB and go into add a friend put in whoever psn and put in a message it freaks me out when people just send an invite with no message, or if you want to add someone you played on CoD4 go into players met!

Sorry m8 but where do i go to find the xmb (im a bit thick), coz it said that when i tried adding someone and that you have to exit the game to do so.

the XMB is the home menu

and yes you do have too get exit the game but around spring there should be an in game XMB
