i have connected my ps3 with a hdmi to dvi-d cable and am getting no sound anyone else have same problem and how do i fix it

neither a hdmi or dvi cable have the ability to carry sound, only picture

you need to use the av cable as well and make sure the sound output is set to rgb on the playstatioon.

plug the av cable into the back of your playstation and then plug red and white cable into the tv or into a sound system you may be using. DO NOT USE THE YELLOW CABLE thats the visual cable, the red and white are the audio.

Not so , HDMI does carry sound DVI does not .

I take it your Tv does not have an HDMI socket ? , if it does buy a cheap HDMI to HDMI cable and you will be sorted .
