another newbie here

hi everyone
have been given drakes fortune for a pressie
and have found myself stuck on the level called
'the fortress'
i've come out of the fort for the second time
and have clambered down and around in order to get back in
but i'm stuck on the last vine before climbing back into the fort again
it does not matter how i do it
i cannot reach the ledge, i'm always short, but i've never had a prob on any other vines..........
am i a numpty or what?
