THE XBOX LIVE STAGE MAKES EUROPEAN DEBUT AT OXEGEN 2008 Not content with bringing you the ‘greatest rock n roll weekend of the year’, OXEGEN has pulled out all the stops to bring the Xbox Live Stage to Europe for the first time ever. Boasting a massive 46 sq m, high-quality LED cinema screen, the Xbox Live Stage will become a focal point for festival-goers as it will feature live performances and VJ sets from the likes of MTV’s Eclectic Method as well as screenings of some top movies and TV shows. The Xbox Live Stage will be a popular destination with film buffs as it’ll be showing some top movies, including Will Smith’s recent Sci-Fi smash I Am Legend, popular classics such as Lethal Weapon and National Lampoon’s European Vacation and the anarchic genius of South Park – Bigger, Longer,Uncut. Fans with Thursday camping tickets can also look forward to a special Batman night. The Big Screen will also give fans the chance to test their competitive edge with some great games including arcade classics like Sonic the Hedgehog, Pacman, Sensible Soccer and the movie quiz, Scene It. The Xbox Live Stage will kick off proceedings at 12 noon on Thursday, and run from 10am each day of the festival until late. Set in an natural amphitheatre, the stage is the ideal place to kick back and relax for a bit. If that wasn't enough, Xbox 360 will also take to the main stage at OXEGEN this year with EA Game's massively popular Rock Karaoke game 'Rock Band'. Offering festival-goers the chance to pick the songs to sing along to and rock the world, this is festival fun at its finest. With a massive range of artists, bands and tracks to choose from; including Guns n’ Roses, The Police, Radiohead and The Clash, this is your chance to show the world your rock god credentials. Simply log onto www.oxegen.ie to pick your tracks and get rockin’. OXEGEN is taking place from 11th-13th July 2008 at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare. (subject to licence) and fans now have one last chance to purchase tickets. In order to combat ticket touting, a limited number of extra weekend camping tickets for OXEGEN are available. Following concerns from genuine fans last year about ticket touting and signs that tickets for this year’s festival have been selling on various unofficial websites for as much as €486, a limited number of extra tickets have been made available and fans are strongly advised to only purchase tickets via the OXEGEN website (www.oxegen.ie) or through Ticketmaster. 3 day camping tickets sold out over 3 months ago within days of going on sale so the extra tickets are now expected to be snapped up fast.
