Holy ****!

So I was out with friends in Malahide Castle. Walking through the path in the forest and we hear thunder and see lightening right behind us. We stay under the trees for a while and then make a run for the castle. In there 5 minutes then we're told its closing so we had to get out. At that point you couldn't even see ahead of you with the rain it was so heavy.

We ran through 1.5 feet of dirty flood water. The paths were like rivers because the water was moving so fast and it was so high. Up to my knees was fully under water and I was completely dripping water. Got a call from my parents to come home as the local council is closing roads because its too dangerous. We got to my friends house and got towels. My dad came in the jeep but had to turn back because the water was too deep. He got one of his work vans and got through and picked me up. Then got a call from my mom as her shop was flooding. In the space of 10 minutes 14,000 worth of stock was destroyed. Cars were being abandoned in Malahide village as they couldn't make it through the water. The council is giving out sandbags as the same will happen tomorrow! Just look!

wow..its not as bad down here just rain and a few claps of thunder and lighting, and dont stand under trees when theres lighting we dont want our cow getting crushed

Does it say no satilite coverage..reception..ect? Try plugging the sky box out and then back in again and turn it on after a few mins it always works for me.

sorry cow ibut i find that hilarious, how could someone get through somewhere in a van that they couldnt in a jeep

last Year my mate and I drove a company car through a "puddle" during the floods...we floated further than we drove.

still the best award to idiotic behaviour during a flooding is:

2nd place the guy who had to be rescued by helicopter from his car which was being washed away who was only spotted not becouse he was waving from his sunroof but....wait for it....was trying to keep his Benson&Hedges dry.

but first place goes to the guy who drove his car into a flooded ditch and said I new it was deep when the citroen in front of me sank under the water....I was just trying to push him out the other end.

I've got an X Trail so its quite a bit lower than the van and not as powerful
