Default Laptop Advice

Hi guys, Im still on the look for a new laptop. Not necessarily for Gaming purposes, just smooth running of vista and speediness at common tasks.
Was looking at the Dell Studio 17 a few weeks ago but since have moved onto the Acer Aspire 6920G and the brand new Sony Vaio FW Series.

The Sony Vaio FW Series laptop.
These laptops have the new Centrino 2 Technology so this appeals to me as I want to buy a laptop that will have decent spec and will not become completly obsolete in a few years.

The Vaio FW:

I would appreciate any thoughts on these laptops and what peoples opinions are on which is the better laptop!

Ps: I also am only interested in laptops that I can buy in the likes of Pc World stores as I do not have a credit card for online buying!

Thanks!

Andnow I have another laptop to add to the mayhem of choosing!
The HP Pavilion DV5 - 1015.
