So the home beta is opening up in japan now. You apply for an invite by downloading a theme apparently!

Also current users (outside of japan too it seems) have been invited to download a new client which can only bode well for the open beta worldwide.

Can any home beta testers confirm they got this? Also if you've any other juicy tidbits, sure, goan fill us in; pretty please. Bananaman, where are you now?

I got an email from sony on the 14th inviting me to the beta (been away for a few days, so only got email yesterday!). So downloaded and installed, and explored it for a while last night. Quite a few free mini games to play about with, played a few games of pool with some random guys last night, one frame of bowling. There are arcade machines for you to use, 4/5 different mini games on them. There are also chess boards outside (kind of like central park) and someone also said their was draughts, but I couldnt find them. There is a shopping mall, for furniture etc for your house and clothing, but this is all a bit thin on the ground since its the beta. There is also a theartre, just showing loads game trailers and movie trailers. Home takes up just over 3gb. A few things are locked, so cant be explored yet, but the email sony sent said more features will be opened up in the beta over the next few months. So it looks like it may be a while till its here to the general populace.....

ALSO, your in game menu happens to be on a PSP, with customisable backgrounds etc.
