Where do the stats save to? Your HD?

Hi. My PS3 is unable to play any games. Probably because of overheating. I play on COD4 a hell of a lot. The question that i ask is, are all the stats on your COD4 online screen name saved to your HD, or to your sign in name? I suspect they are saved to your HD. But just wondered.

If you don't know what i mean, i mean all your weapon stats, the prestige mode you are on etc... Are they saved to your HD? Or are they associated with your sign in name. If they are associated with your sign in name, then i don't need to worry about backing anything up and vice versa.

yeah it saves your data online not to your hard drive, i had exactly the same problem when my disc reader broke but when i got my new ps3 i just signed in with the same username and my online stats were still saved thank god, however you will loose your single player data as that is saved to your hard drive, but thats no biggy

Has everyone got them wrapped up in bags or something? I have never had a problem like this (touch wood) but my PS3 is just sitting on top of a DVD player, Not in a closed off area like in a cabinet or somewhere.

Was yours closed off?

Could be something to do with the weather and it getting warmer
