There's different stages of Vampirism. I can't remember it exactly, but when you first contract the disease (Don't ask, it's long and hard to spell ) You can get cured by said means, but after 3 days, and then a nights sleep, you're a full vampire, and therefore have to do said quest

Being a Vampire aint that difficult when u get used to it, tho it can b pains at times. Once u figure out some easy places for ppl to chomp on u can travel by day once u've chomped on someone for approx 2 days.
Easy places for chomping on ppl are - near where u get the first theives guild quests, the priest that sleeps outside and gives u the knights of nine quest and even easier still at the fighters guild (and places like it), of course it has to be night time to do this as hardly any1 sleeps during the day - just make sure no1 sees u chomping.
You can also buy Grand Soul Gems from some of the shops but u'll have to give them a few days to restock between buys.
One thing about vampirism though is if u don't chomp on ppl u gain extra skills - the detect life is very useful and its always turned on so u don't have to cast it (if u've completed all the theives guild quests tho u don't need that skill anymore).
The BIGGEST problem with vampirism though is that the game makes it sound worse than it is - so u just want rid of it, but it is easily liveable with I stayed a vampire for over 7 lvls and after i got rid of it and started breathing easier, I looked back at the hardships it caused me and thought it wasn't that bad - so don't worrry about having it and work on the quest to get rid of it at ur own pace.
