Wii vs PS3??? Why??

Why do people continue to compare the Wii to the PS3? They are completely different products. The Wii is obviously competition for the PS2. The graphics are definitely last gen console.

The price is so much lower than the PS3 and 360 because it's not in the same league.

As far as I can tell the only appeal is the wavy controls and even then the controls are attached with cables (which seems odd considering their function).

The only current competition is the 360. It's a next gen console as the mags like to call them.

Agreed!! Its just a gimik as far as im concerned, people will get bored of it fairly quickly imo.

Come on its a fun beer fueled night in on the wii. The boxing game is cool when your with mates and the baseball, ten pin, all good comedy value but not in the same league as the PS3. Think of it as some thing to do when your in need of a break from lightning fast HD AI and just want a fun colour filled break. I did sell mine about a month ago to my little sis for £100. It was also a very good work out my muscles always felt it after a few hours boxing... :lol:

One of my mates bought a wii at launch it just sits in the corner now. Took a while but the novelty value has worn out.

Agreed but the point I was making is that regardless of novelty value or originality it's a competitor for the PS2 and not the PS3 and 360.

The graphics are ****e compared to both of those and, lets be honest, that's the point. That's what makes a next get console. Graphics and processing power and the Wii is no better (or not as good) as the latest PS2 stuff. I can't understand why people insist on comparing it to the other 2.

To be honest, I don't think Nintendo ever planned it to.

Different price range. Different technical level.

Its compared because they were released the same time. Its nothing to do with specs or anything.

I have a Wii in my house which a friend left over one boozy night in and they are that good he can't even be bothered to come and collect it not to mention having played it a few time I can't be arsed to plug it back in.

PS3, turn it on every time I get two minutes out from the wife and kids

That's the comparison folks :wink:
