Pre-owned PES2008 = stuffed?

Hi All,

I've just got my hands on a pre-owned PES 2008 and tried to register online. I used the code on the back of the game manual but it's telling me that the registration code is already in use!

I've only bought the game to play online, does this mean I'm stuffed? (online-wise)

Someone at GameStation is going to pay dearly for this!!!

with more and more online games coming through the system, you would think they would have created a de-register function for exactly this kind of problem.

A few ways to find why this is happening

Does the code look photocopied?
The disc could be copied

Check for any peculiar signs, then take it back to gamestation, because chances are it's a copy

how would it be a copy if he can play it, when ya get pro evo ya register the serial no on a site it gives ya, it then gives ya a registration code and ya make a password, so yeah i'd say ya wont be able to get online with it, email konami and c what they say bout it

Thanks for the reply.

It's a completely legit game, it's just that the previous owner has already registered using the code on the manual. I have now bought this pre-owned game from Gamestation (who's face I will soon be kicking off) completely unaware of how this online registration works.

Looks like I will be returning the game and smashing few heads together in the process.

Surely this means that anyone who has bought a pre-owned version of PES2008 won't be playing this online as the original would have already registered?

i doubt ya will get a refund there is nothin wrong with the game and the registration is a problem with konami but they might feel sorry for ya

yep same thing happened to me from gamestation. I had heard of the problem before i bought the game so i asked the staff at gamestation if i could use the game online if its already been registered they said of course you can. but of course i couldn't so i took it back and they gave me a full refund. i did buy a brand new copy a few weeks ago and believe me its not worth it online play for this game is appalling and totally unplayable.

You'll be taking it back anyway once you get the online running! Really rubbish bugs everywhere..

You are stuffed essentially, however find a number for Konami online. Same thing happened to my mate when I lent him BF2.
