Please help dns error my son is going mad cant get ps3 connected

Please help! PS3 DNS Error my son is going mad!
If anyone can help me please do, have recently bought a ps3 have eircom broadband and cannot connect to the net with it. DNS error 80710102 keeps coming up.

i have tried automatic settings and that wont work ans have entered manually these settings

IP address 192.168.1.255
sub net mask 255.255.255.0
default router 192.168.1.254
primary dns 213.94.190.194
secondary dns 213.94.190.236

automatic for mtu
proxy server do not use
upnp enable and also tried disable

then the error message shows, can i do anything else is their anything above wrong or out of ordinary

i have also entered in the wep key.

have tried ipconfig/all on my laptop and this shows

Have you tried connectin the ps3 using the ethernet cable rather than wireless?

All the problems i have seen with connection problems are either to do with NAT type 2 and 3 or people using WEP when some should be using WAP.

Not much help i know, but there are quite a few threads on the forums regarding issues like yours.

Ring Sony ps3 helpline or your broadband tech support, thats what they are there for

will try that thanks, eircom are saying its a ps3 problem, sony are saying its an eircom one, knowone seems to be able to help

If you can connect to the internet on your home PC it's most likely the settings on the PS3 that are the problem.

If the PC works tell Sony and they won't be able to blame Eircom if not get on to Eircom and tell them you can't get access with either.

Just a guess, but try using an IP address of 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.1.3
instead or 192.168.1.255

I think .255 might be a specially reserved IP.....

Error code 8001020 is a IP conflict So change the IP
