Playing PS3 on laptop - please help

I'm trying to use my laptop as a screen to play my ps3, but I can't get anything to show up. I have a Pinnacle USB TV Tuner plugged into my computer and the PS3's video output (the yellow cable) plugged into that. The TVCenter program that came with the TV Tuner the PS3 doesn't register at all. I tried going to AV, but that still didn't help.
Please help! I just got MGS 4, and I haven't even played it yet. I'm kinda in the middle of nowhere and this is the only way I'll be able to use my PS3 for like a month

Does it work with anything else other than the ps3

I think someone said that they did it with their ps2, and apparently it works with the xbox as well. I was told that this was the only way to get the PS3 to work through a laptop. Can anyone confirm this? Technically I don't see any problem that would prevent it from working. I think I just have an issue with setting up the software correctly. But then again, I don't really know too much about this...
