I bought a ps3 today, how do i connect it to hd, can someone run me through the steps? I get to the bit where it says 'If the screen is blank for 30 seconds', and i have connected the hdmi cable. However it won't work. My TV is HD ready.What am I doing wrong?

Plug your hdmi lead into the ps3, plug it into the tv, turn the ps3 on and it should auto come on and say hdmi found and display on screen in small writing? It should say use these settings and press yess and voila it should work....I hope

Hold the power button down for a few secs, it'll beep two or three times, cant remember how many exactly. Its like a soft reset.

WHta pit said but it needs to be on stand by before you do it... I could be wrong because i didnt read the post..

I select yes when it says a hdmi cable is available, but it goes blank for a while and nothing happens.

Switch the tv to hdmi, press av or just fiddle with the remote till you find a list saying scart...tv...hdmi..ect

It's a pioneer, bought brand new in april, product code pdp 428oxd I can get to the hdmi menu but it then says the system is not set up for this. But it says hdmi on the top.
