Default Having HDMI trouble - please help!!

Just got a PS3, and bought an HDMI cable. At first it didn't work (was getting audio but no visual), then I read the troubleshooting guide that came with the system and started to get somewhere. Now, I can turn the system on and put my HD TV onto the HDMI input. A message pops up saying that HDMI has been found, do I want to use it - so I click 'yes'.

Then it asks me if I want to configure it for optimum performance, so I say 'yes'. Then it begins to load up the blu-ray DVD (haven't tried it with a game yet). After a couple of seconds, the screen goes blank and my TV tells me there is 'no input' as if the HDMI cable has been unplugged. That's as far as I get.

For info, I have an LG HD TV.

Any help would be much appreciated!

ok turn the ps3 off, the flick the switch at the back so you have the red light on the front.... keep your finger pressed on that until you hear a couple of bleeps... thats just reset your system and you should get picture again... as for the the first part when ever it asks me that it works fine....

where it says do you want optimal setting select no

then if it loads to the menu go to setting at manually configure it

i would suggest 720p to start with then keep going up 1 by one until it stops working then you will have to use the last settings that worked

in theory it should work mate any problems come back and let us know
