HARD DRIVE PROBLEM
I Have Recently Bought A Ps3 Hard Drive 2'5 Sata 320gb
I Put It Into Ps3 And When I Turned It On It Said You Need To Insert A Storage Media Device With An Update 2.42 Or Later
I Did That And It Came Up Saying No Applicable Data Update Found
Has Anyone Came Up With This And If So Are There Any Solutions
Thanks

do you have an option to format the drive now it is in....is the drive even seen....I don't know about the ps3 as I dont have one yet but when mine arrives I am going to update the drive as soon as money allows....from what I have researched the best thning to do is:
back up all files on to a USB device
swap out the drive
Format the Drive
copy back up from USB to new drive
I hope I have this right as that is how I will do it....but guile will be along soon to show us the errors of our ways.
any how for now check your connection is solid and then try format it

if ya get a new hd when ya get it theres no need to back up anythin cos the os is stored in the flash memory, the ps3 can work without a hd in it

use a partition program and make a new partition on the hd with say 50gb and format the new partition to fat32, when ya do the backup and put the new hd in the ps3 ya can delete the fat32 partition and have the full 250 again
