I think Washy means that if it comes from Sony, then take it with a grain of salt. It'll most likely get delayed anyway.

I do think it'll come out in October though. TheDaringEnigma, they don't have to close the closed beta. They confirmed the Open Beta for the end of 2008 so October sounds likely.
