Holy ****!
So I was out with friends in Malahide Castle. Walking through the path in the forest and we hear thunder and see lightening right behind us. We stay under the trees for a while and then make a run for the castle. In there 5 minutes then we're told its closing so we had to get out. At that point you couldn't even see ahead of you with the rain it was so heavy.
We ran through 1.5 feet of dirty flood water. The paths were like rivers because the water was moving so fast and it was so high. Up to my knees was fully under water and I was completely dripping water. Got a call from my parents to come home as the local council is closing roads because its too dangerous. We got to my friends house and got towels. My dad came in the jeep but had to turn back because the water was too deep. He got one of his work vans and got through and picked me up. Then got a call from my mom as her shop was flooding. In the space of 10 minutes 14,000 worth of stock was destroyed. Cars were being abandoned in Malahide village as they couldn't make it through the water. The council is giving out sandbags as the same will happen tomorrow! Just look!
