Sorry for the confusion, I meant when the PS3 is plugged in at the mains.
I have a Netgear DG834 v4 (though I tried a Belkin to see if that disconnected too). I have no modem because, as I understand it, the Netgear is an ADSL modem as well??? my Ipod touch, Archos 704 and laptop all connect to the router without any problems (they connect via wifi).
Once the PS3 in plugged in to the mains. about 60 secs after, the DSL and Internet lights on the router go (and I can't even browse the internet via the PC). They come back on and it reconnects after about 2-3 mins, only for the same thing to happen a couple of minutes later.
I tried setting up the PS3 via a wired connection but the disconnection still occurred.
